The Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance in the stands at Wimbledon yesterday, cheering on friend Serena Williams during the fourth day of the annual tournament.

The royal is a longtime fan of tennis and has been spotted at the Wimbledon championships several times before.

For her 2019 outing, she kept her styling low-key, in a pinstripe L'Agence blazer, slim-fit jeans and classic courts. While she accessorised with the Wimbledon-ubiquitous straw hat and sunglasses, there was one new addition to her outfit that caught attention, and was a sweet nod to her newborn son.

She was seen wearing a simple gold necklace with the letter 'A' in the middle, in tribute to Archie Harrison, who was born at the beginning of May. The design is thought to be by American jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer.

Since welcoming her first child, Meghan has kept a relatively low profile, only making a couple of public appearances during her maternity leave. She attended the Trooping the Colour parade in June with the rest of the royal family, and also made a surprise appearance at a baseball game with Prince Harry last week.

The couple will be christening their son during a private ceremony on Saturday (6 July).
